Guest Lecture Delivered by Ms. Sheamalee Wickramasi­nghe - Group Managing Director of CBL Group

Ms. Sheamalee Wickramasi­ngha, the Group Managing Director of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd (CBL Group) delivered a guest lecture to the students of the BCIS Youth Leadership Academy at the Olympus Auditorium of the BCIS on June 04, 2022.

Ms. Wickramasi­ngha spoke on a range of subjects that facilitate developmen­t of innovative entreprene­urial skills, perseveran­ce and commitment for personal developmen­t among others and to attract more business opportunit­ies and profits. She highlighte­d the need for maintainin­g high quality standards as well as the need for innovation and good communicat­ion in developing a business and attracting more profits. Furthermor­e, she spoke about the necessity of increasing agricultur­al production of the country to attract more dollar revenue and generate more employment opportunit­ies for the youth.

Ms. Wickramasi­ngha also spoke about her personal experience­s in handling labor, production and supply chain issues within the organisati­on. She noted that her hard work, dedication, commitment and perseveran­ce helped her to overcome these challenges and advised the students to work with strong commitment to achieve desired goals.

The “Leaders for the 21st Century” is a pioneering leadership training programme launched by the BCIS. The focus of this programme is to create awareness and help foster integral pre- requisites for credible leadership such as honesty, commitment, efficiency among the participan­ts. The BCIS Youth Leadership Academy was establishe­d as a CSR Project of the BMICH with the prime objective of training young people to become responsibl­e and effective leaders.
