It is a musical drama that is been staged in Sri Lanka for the first time and is a super production that one could experience a totally different atmosphere. The Writer and Director Kithsirimevan Jayasena was inspired by Dysney’s most acclaimed and beloved film,

“Beauty and the Beast”to create this stage musical. The story goes as a King being cursed from birth and to reverse it he had to write 1000 poems and at the age of 27years had already written 990 and only 10 more to be completed. Sadly he was human but had turned into a beast. Although he was a monster in appearance was kind hearted and intelligent. A final requirement was a young woman should say to him, ‘I Love You’, and on that day he will turn out to be a human being. There had been a beautiful young woman who likes singing living in the village known to all as Beauty who was saved of Coyotes that surrounded and attacked her by the beast while walking in the forest. She had also had the opportunity to read most of the poems written by the beast who had been throwing them in the jungle after writing. Beauty has picked them and had a liking to the style of writing. When the beast was trapped and caught by the villages she had then just finished singing the last poem and felt sorry for him and ran over to him held his hand and said, “I LOVE YOU” and immediately the beast turned out to be a smart young man. Thereafter the Beast and beauty lived happily ever after.
