Message from President South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA)

-

I am pleased to send this message on this important occasion, as the CMA Sri Lanka celebrates its 8th year in rewarding “CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards”.

Integrated Reporting is an opportunity for organizations to adapt more sustainable business models, strategies and create value over the long term. It also has the potential to bring innovation through integrated thinking and value creation, which would certainly enhance productivity, sustainability, and profitability.

The organizations embark in IR adoption should see it from a strategic point of view instead of a compliance point of view to tell a better story about their business model and the value they create for investors in driving the strategy for the organizations.

Integrated Reporting is still a management practice exercised by few companies in the South Asian Region including Sri Lanka and an increasing number of organizations across the Region have realized the importance of reporting the full picture of their organization’s value to investors and other stakeholders. I am

happy to mention that Sri Lanka is in the forefront of Integrated Reporting in the Region.

In this context, CMA Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards Competition has played a very significant role in promoting the importance of integrated thinking, transparency, corporate governance, sustainability, and accountability among corporates in Sri Lanka.

I congratulate the CMA Sri Lanka for continuing to organize this Awards Ceremony for eight years elevating the standards in Integrated Reporting and the award winners and companies who participated for the competition.
