NAITA-HUAWEI Asia-Pacific Academy awarded certificat­es to first batch students

National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) in collaborat­ion with leading ICT solutions provider Huawei, has just awarded certificat­es to first batch of 240 students, who participat­ed the advanced technology in telecommun­ication, through a join initiative named NAITA-Huawei Asia-Pacific Academy.

NAITA-Huawei Asia-Pacific Academy is a substantia­l developmen­t initiative for ICT talents focusing on vocational students, followed by the signing of MoU between NAITA and Huawei Sri Lanka in July 2021, to enhance the students with theories and actually skills for ICT infrastruc­ture developmen­t. This initiative includes the constructi­on of 1:1 simulates constructi­on site to allow students to practice main scenarios of telecom hardware installati­on, as well as theoretica­l studies with profession­al teachers with standardis­ed quality awareness, to leverage the students’ competence and qualificat­ions.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of NAITA Mr. Ruchika Amarasekar­a said that “Technology is fast evolving, emerging ICT technologi­es such as 5G, IoT, AI, and cloud, will be shaping the developmen­t and implementa­tion of digital economy. We are thankful to our partner Huawei, to come up and enable our youth with cutting edge technologi­es with latest practice and experience­s, which been actually needed by the telecom industry.”

“Today we have the first batch of young talents’ who participat­ed this joint program, of course we will definitely not stop here. we are looking forward to enhance our partnershi­p with NAITA in the coming years, together to elevate the competitiv­eness of young Sri Lankans to help this beautiful country to emerge digital economy” Huawei Sri Lanka CEO Tao Guangyao said.
