British College of Applied Studies (BCAS) appoints eminent personalities to its Board of Governance

-

The Board of Governors takes on a crucial role, serving as an esteemed advisory committee to the management of BCAS Campus. Their primary focus is on enhancing quality, standards, and the overall management of academic affairs.

What makes this governance structure truly unique is its diverse composition. The Governance Council consists of academics from various backgrounds, bringing a rich tapestry of perspectives to the table. This inclusive approach ensures transparency and accountability in every decision made for the betterment of BCAS. In partnership with overseas awarding bodies and universities, BCAS offers a variety of education programmes. Besides earning local recognition through awards such as Sri Lanka’s Most Successful Employer Award, the Outstanding Contribution to Education Award, and Asia’s Best Employer Brand Award, BCAS has received international acclaim as well. Approximately 3500 students are distributed across our four campuses in Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna, and Kalmunai.

We are honoured to introduce distinguished personalities such as Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Senior Prof. Rohan Rajapakse, Prof. (Ms.) Wasantha Seneviratne, Dr. Jayantha Balasooriya, and Dr. Susil Kumara Silva as members of the BCAS Campus Board of Governors.

Founded in 1999, BCAS primarily provided basic Computer education and English skills to equip school leavers with the competencies they need to succeed in the local and international job market. Over 10,000 students have gained entrance to UK higher education institutions and universities through BCAS in the past two years. We obtained Sri Lanka’s first franchise for teaching European Computer Driving License (ECDL), now known as the International Computer Driving License (ICDL).

Today, we are one of Sri Lanka’s most

trusted higher education institutions with over 2 decades of experience. Learning at BCAS is filled with cutting-edge technology and creative, innovative methods that are designed to help learners from a variety of backgrounds understand and retain information.
