Ex-Pack Corrugated Cartons PLC awarded with Carbon Neutral certification for second year
Ex-Pack Corrugated Cartons PLC, subsidiary of Aberdeen Holdings (Pvt) Ltd and a name synonymous with the corrugated cartons manufacturing industry of Sri Lanka, was recently awarded the Carbon Neutral certification for the second consecutive year, reaffirming its unwavering commitment towards pursuing actions that are essential to combat climate change.
This achievement is one that is well commendable given the nature of the industry it operates in. Ex-Pack was able to register a significant reduction in its carbon footprint by 22.3 percent from last year, tightening its annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission targets which covers all aspects of its operations.
The GHG assesments, gathered from its energy and water consumption, waste management, transportation and related, are verified by the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC). The technical guidance is provided by co-energi, a leading green building, MEP design and carbon neutral consultancy, which played an instrumental role in paving the pathway for Ex-Pack in achieving its certification.

This recognition is long due as we have always strived in our ways to minimise or mitigate our impact towards the environment and society at large and we are taking further measures in strengthening our ESG pillars to achieve our net-zero carbon ambition,’’ said Chairman Mr. Sattar Kassim.
The effort to curb and mitigate in offsetting carbon emissions and adopting some of industry’s best practices in sustainability is a continuous activity at Ex-Pack, together in consultation with experts in the field.
