“Students from NCHS have a track record of being successful in America”

NCHS conducted a USA open day on the 25th of September, 2022 from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm at the college premises in Colombo. The event was well received by prospectiv­e students and their families, and they engaged enthusiast­ically with the university representa­tives who has come to Sri Lanka specially for the event. Scholarshi­ps and special packages were made available to the students, including Scholarshi­ps up to $27,000 dollars at the university of Kentucky.

“We were able to talk to the students, they were engaged and excited for their future. I was able to share why Fresno State was a good fit for many of them and that includes the location, affordabil­ity, national ranking and documented student success” Dr. Scott Moore is the Dean of the Division of Continuing and Global Education and Director Internatio­nal Services and Programmes, California State University, Fresno.

Lanka for the second time to talk to students about the opportunit­ies available “We have a long track record of students coming to Albany from NCHS. They have been successful, they have been able to graduate, entire excellent career paths and stay and work in America if they choose to” she said. “We do offer scholarshi­p funding!” she added.

Employment prospects

Internatio­nal students can work in a job on campus up to 20 hours a week. This is commonly spent in industry related internship­s and in gaining job experience. The universiti­es have career services department staffed with profession­als. They will help students with their CV, give tips on facing interview and, and help them find job opportunit­ies, both during and after their completing their degree.
