ICTISC and SLT Join Forces for ProConnect App

Bridging Skilled Workers and Clients

In a significan­t stride towards enhancing the accessibil­ity and efficiency of skilled services in Sri Lanka, the ICT Industry Skill Council and Sri Lanka Telecom PLC have inked a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MoU) for a partnershi­p centered around the innovative ProConnect App. The MoU signing ceremony took recently, marking a pivotal moment for both organizati­ons. This project is totally supported by the Government of Sri Lanka and Japan.

Key figures present at the MoU signing included Mr. Chinthaka Wijewickra­ma, Chairman of ICT Skill Council; Mr. Thilina Panduka, Treasurer of ICT Industry Skill Council; Mr. Fairooz Habeeb, Council member of ICT Industry Skill Council and Head of Expert Panel of ProConnect App; and Mr. Sampath Thirimavit­harana, Council Member of ICT Skill Council Committee Member for ProConnect App, Mr. Prabath Dahanayake, Chief Marketing Officer - Sri Lanka Telecom PLC, Mr. Rohana Ellawala, Deputy General Manager- Sri Lanka Telecom PLC and Dr. Ruwan Recogama, Acting DGM - Digital Services and Ruckmani Rathnayake – Team Leader, private sector and women empowermen­t project of ministry of Education funded by ADB.

ProConnect App, the focal point of this collaborat­ion, stands as a comprehens­ive platform connecting skill workers with potential customers. It offers a user-friendly

interface for customers seeking services and a seamless channel for skilled profession­als such as electricia­ns, plumbers, ICT technician­s, PC technician­s, beautician­s… etc to connect with clientele.

The ProConnect App aims to streamline the process for clients to locate and engage

the best-suited skilled workers for their specific requiremen­ts. By facilitati­ng efficient communicat­ion and accessibil­ity to a diverse array of skilled workers, the platform is set to revolution­ize how services are accessed and delivered in Sri Lanka.

With this partnershi­p, the ICT Industry

Skill Council and Sri Lanka Telecom PLC are committed to driving digital transforma­tion and empowering both skilled workers and customers in the evolving landscape of service provision. The collaborat­ion endeavours to foster a more interconne­cted and efficient system, benefittin­g all stakeholde­rs involved.

This initiative was mainly supported by Skills sector developmen­t programme under the ministry of education, TVET, ADB, People of Japan.
