In a heartwarming evening filled with joy and celebration, Aiko hosted its Annual Concert 2023, showcasing the remarkable growth, talents, and unity of the young stars at the nursery and daycare center. Parents, grandparents, and esteemed guests gathered to witness a spectacular performance that radiated warmth and enthusiasm.

The concert, held on the 21st of October 2023, served as a testament to the nurturing environment that Aiko provides to its children. Aiko, often considered a second home, is synonymous with love, kindness, and trust, where the primary focus is to offer quality time for young learners. The event was a reflection of the dedication and passion that drive Aiko’s mission to provide a homelike atmosphere for every child.

The journey of Aiko began with the vision of its founder and Managing Director Savithri Suduge to bridge the gap between childcare in Sri Lanka and Japan. Recognizing the significance of the early years, Aiko’s founder embarked on a journey to create a space where children could develop independence and confidence, mirroring the successful model of Japanese childcare. This vision marked the beginning of a unique journey.

In 2019, Aiko took its first steps, primarily as a daycare and after-school activity center. The subsequent years witnessed exponential growth, with the establishment of a preschool and the expansion of daycare services to operate around the clock, seven days a week. Then, in 2020, ‘Cubby House’ in Thalawathugoda was established.

The concept of ‘learning through play’ was introduced in 2021, while 2022 saw the launch of the Aiko Infant Care Unit, accommodating babies aged 4 months to one and a half years. In 2023, the Teachers and Professional Caregiving Training Academy was introduced, alongside the introduction of a home-visiting childcare service.

The heart of Aiko lies in providing parents with the assurance that their children are in capable hands. The belief is that parents should not have to compromise their careers or trust a maid with their child’s care. The early years, particularly up to age 5, are considered critical for a child’s development, leaving no room for experimentation or trial and error. Aiko stands by the philosophy that children deserve the very best caregivers.

Beyond the traditional realms of reading and writing, Aiko’s young graduates embark on a journey to cultivate a well-rounded life. They develop a sharing, caring, and creative mindset, coupled with a strong personality that prepares them to face life’s challenges confidently, extending beyond their firstgrade experience.

Aiko’s Annual Concert was a rare sight for a daycare center in Sri Lanka. Often, such events are reserved for preschools and schools. However, Aiko defied the norm and presented its third annual concert with an impressive display of talents.

The concert itself was a delightful spectacle, with children displaying their talents in dance and much more. The event was not limited to the children alone; parents and even grandparents took the stage to create unforgettable memories.

Aiko’s Annual Concert 2023 was a celebration for everyone to enjoy. The audience wasn’t there just to watch but to immerse themselves in the performances, applaud, cheer, encourage, and, most importantly, share in the joy of the moment.

As the night drew to a close, the message was clear: Aiko is not merely a daycare center; it’s a nurturing environment where children thrive and grow. The Annual Concert 2023 was a testament to the vision, dedication, and love that make Aiko a second home for them.
