Hayleys Advantis Limited, the transportation and logistics arm of the Hayleys Group, has taken a momentous step forward by launching its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, aptly named ‘HELIOS,’ a pivotal step in the Group’s ESG journey.

The event garnered the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Guest of Honour, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Environment and Chairman of Sri Lanka Climate Fund, and Keynote Speaker, Professor Sevvandi Jayakody, the Chair Professor of the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.

The ESG strategy is established on seven fundamental pillars: Energy, Emissions, Biodiversity, Employee Engagement, Community Engagement, Safety and Governance. These pillars serve as the cornerstone of the Group’s commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible corporate conduct, all guided by the ESG framework of its Parent Company, Hayleys PLC, referred to as the Hayleys Lifecode.

Mr. Ruwan Waidyaratne, Managing Director of the Advantis Group, emphasised the significance of the launch of the ESG strategy, stating, “HELIOS embodies our strong commitment to a more sustainable future, reflecting Advantis Group’s commitment to be acknowledged as a responsible corporate citizen. It signifies our pledge to safeguard the environment, support communities, and uphold ethical and transparent business practices. As Advantis continues to progress, we aim to set an example and inspire others in the transportation and logistics industry to embark on a journey towards positive change.”
