The Daybridge International AMI Montessori Group, through the Directress of the group Mrs. Iromi Weerasinghe is established as one of the pioneers of the AMI Montessori method of teaching in Sri Lanka with over 40 years of experience in the field. Daybridge celebrated “Daybridge in Concert” on the 10th of November, 2023 at the Bishop’s College Auditorium. The event was organised by the Directress and conducted along with the Heads of each of the five Montessori Branches; Bambalapit iya, Piliyandala, Waidya Place, Union Place and Nikape.

The Chief Guest, Ms. Vasantha Senerath graced the event, she is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC), Real

Estate Broker and she has her own tax consultancy firm in Florida, USA. The Chief Guest was a fellow pioneer of the AMI Montessori method of teaching in Sri Lanka prior to changing her field of expertise. Also present were the Board of Directors and many other invited guests, students, parents and teachers.

The Directress expressed that “the main objective behind the production is to give the students of Daybridge the exposure and awareness to perform on stage at an early age, individually and collectively and thereby develop in confidence whilst supporting and uplifting each other.” This aligns with the vision of the Montessori, to provide a holistic foundation and total development of the child, leading to happy, confident and vibrant students ready to take on the challenges of the future and preparing them for success.

The concert provided a platform for the children, aged 2 to 5 years, to display their talents with a welcome speech presented by students of the Union Place Montessori followed by a spectacular lineup of song and dance, comprising 15 items in total. This ranged from traditional, western, latinand modern genres.

The event concluded with the Graduation of the leavers from each Branch, cloaked in their graduating attire, singing their Graduation song and giving thanks to the Teachers for their support and dedication; followed by the Vote of Thanks presented by students of the Bambalapitiya Branch.
