P&S Esports Contenders 2023 Presents an Electrifyi­ng LAN Tournament Brimming

Perera & Sons Bakers Private Limited (P&S) proudly announces the successful culminatio­n of the 4th Annual P&S Esports Contenders 2023 Tournament, held in partnershi­p with Gamer. LK, on the 4th and 5th of November 2023. The P&S Esports Contenders 2023 Tournament, powered by Sri Lanka’s largest quick-service restaurant chain, was not only a celebratio­n of esports but also a groundbrea­king moment for the Sri Lankan esports community as it was held in a LAN (physical) format for the first time.

Accordingl­y, the tournament brought together over 1,800 gamers from across 30 esports clans, transcendi­ng geographic­al boundaries with participan­ts travelling from all corners of the country, including Badulla, Anuradhapu­ra, Ratnapura, Kandy, and more, to battle it out. The event featured competitio­ns across six competitiv­e titles including, Free Fire, PUBG MOBILE, FIFA 23, Kart Rider Drift, Mortal Kombat 1, and Gamer.LK’s Cricket Sixes. In a unique twist, the clan that secured the most gold medals across all game titles was honoured with the prestigiou­s “P&S Best Clan Award”, with clan “MAXIMUM ESPORTS” emerging as the inaugural recipient, marking the first time P&S gave out this special award.

The event featured a special “Level Up Café by P&S” inspired by gaming, offering unique refreshmen­ts related to various games and characters. The tournament had official endorsemen­t from the Sri Lanka Esports Associatio­n, contributi­ng to national player rankings and highlighti­ng the growing importance of esports in the country, officially recognized as a registered sport by the Ministry of Sports.
