Reflecting on 25 Years of Success: Brisbane International School’s Milestones and Achievements
As Brisbane International School marks its 25th year, a glance back reveals a year of remarkable achievements and milestones. Among the highlights, Mihindi Weligamage’s exceptional performance in the Edexcel Advanced Level exams stood out, earning her three A stars and the prestigious Pearson Edexcel High Achiever’s award. Currently pursuing a Master’s at the University of Bristol, her success exemplifies the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
This year also saw former pupil Thisali Karunarathne securing a full scholarship for medicine at Zhenzhou University, China—a testament to the calibr of students nurtured at BIS. Celebrating its silver jubilee, the school hosted ‘Brisbane Breeze,’ a vibrant event at the Lionel Wendt Theatre, graced by Mr. Dominic Hudson of the British Council and Professor Sunanda Degamboda from Kelaniya University.
