AURA 2023 -Vidura College – Colombo Kalutara branch annual concert was held on 1st December at Divisional Secretaries Auditorium

-

Professor Rangika Halwatura, Researcher, Academic and Inventor at the University of Moratuwa, currently the youngest professor in Civil Engineering Science in Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Every year AURA is staged to feel the true Sri Lankan identity and cultural values and traditions in a practical and realistic way to the students.

The objective of the annual concert AURA is to enhance the total psychological and cultural development of students at Vidura College. The school believes via Psychological development, one’s cultural and religious values. rituals and customs, will create a complete human being. AURA concert provides a platform for students to get an opportunity to feel and touch the rich Sri Lankan Customs, Traditions, Art, Music, Wood carving, Paintings and many more.

We guide Vidurians to be very much closer to the cultural roots of their identities as we firmly believe a man with no culture, no tradition, no customs and values is pretty much an incomplete and vague character who cannot understand humane thoughts and feelings of people. Vidura College needs not to make her children lost and unknown in a Global Society. They must be able to proudly talk about their rich culture and customs that they have been bequeathed by their forefathers.

Kandian Dancing, Low country dancing, Eastern and Western music choir items secure very prominent among all the items that were very vibrant and glamorous enough to steal the hearts of an audience within no time.

Further, the way the aesthetic teachers Ms. Rameesha, Kosala, Avishka, Lakmini and Sandali groom young Vidurians to be the best of the best performers molding their artistic talents with proper steps and elegant physical movements will be highly valued and appreciated.
