CEO of Arpico Insurance PLC Dr. Kelum Senanayake appointed as Executive Director
Dr. Kelum Senanayake, CEO and Principal Officer of Arpico Insurance PLC and a renowned personality in the Sri Lankan Life Insurance industry, has been appointed as an Executive, NonIndependent Director of the Company.
Dr. Senanayake took reigns at Arpico Insurance PLC as its CEO in March, 2021 and has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry. He also has the privilege of being the first and only CEO in the Sri Lankan Insurance industry to hold the coveted Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) status. He also serves on the Boards of Richard Peiris Distributors and Richard Peiris Finance Company as a Director.
He began his career in 1982 at Mercantile Credit Ltd, the principal agent for National Insurance Corporation and moved to Union Assurance PLC where he rose to the rank of AGM during a career spanning over 27 years with the company. Thereafter, subsequently he joined AIA Insurance Lanka as GM – Operations, where he rose to Director – Operations, during a stint spanning over a decade.

Having received Insurance training in the UK, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, India and South Africa, he is also a respected trainer in the arena who has trained over 20,000 insurance professionals during his career.
