As the countdown to the New Year 2024 begins, the hotels in Colombo and other cities have lined up a range of celebrations to usher in the New Year. Star class hotels in Colombo, many have already fully booked, will host an assortment of Celebrations ranging from dinners, dances and New Year parties under different themes.
The New Year dances that also include gala dinners, breakfasts, music entertainment and firework displays range from Rs.8000/- to Rs.35,000/- per reveller. Many leading musical groups and artistes are scheduled to perform at dances.
TV Times have listed some of the hottest New Year Dinner Dances in the city. Colombo Hilton takes the top spot with bands 2FORTY2 and Misty in action at the Grand Ballroom, which will be transformed into a shimmering wonderland of excitement and celebration.

Sunset Blue will come alive with entertainment by DJs Bonnie, Dhanushka, Hiranya, Naushad, and Kapila Mohotti. The tickets are priced at Rs 15,888/- per head.
Capital Bar and Grill of Shangri La, Colombo will offer Five-course set menu with live music for Rs. 39,214 nett, while popular band D Major led by Hector Dias, Dinesh Gamage and DJ Kappa will be in action at the ‘Masquerade Ball 2023’ of Taj Samudra. Tickets are priced at Rs.20,000/- per person.
‘Blast Thru 2023’, New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance at the Ramada by Wyndham, Colombo will come alive with the sounds of ‘The Marians’ alongside the electrifying beats of Dee J Candi.
Tickets for the ‘Blast Thru’ are priced at Rs.17,000/DJ Kevin, DJ Rumesh, and DJ Sushan will spin their discs for the revellers at the Courtyard by Marriot on December 31st, New Year’s Eve. The ticket price is Rs. 12,000/- per head.
The Pool Terrace of the Cinnamon Lakeside will come alive with ‘Pop Culture’, DJ Trevin, DJ ACE, DJ Ishan and DJ Clifford on the NYE. The tickets are priced at Rs. 12,500/-, while ‘Lights and Sparkle’ party at the Tennis Court
will feature a star-studded extravaganza with two bands- ‘PointFive’ and ‘Mid Lane’ along with Bathiya and Santush, Amal Perera, Nadeemal Perera, Wasthi, Dilmin Perera, Kanchana, Ashanya Premadasa and DJ Shan. ‘Lights and Sparkle’ tickets are priced at Rs.8,000/per person.
Band ‘Redeemers’ will be in action at the ‘Bali Bliss NYE 2023’ at Cinnamon Grand’s Oak Room. Ticket price Bali Bliss NYE 2023 is Rs 18,000/-, while husband and wife duo Yohan and Honerin will perform at the Cheers Pub. Sri Lankan style New Year celebration will be held at the Nuga Gama with live music and cultural show for Rs.8,000/inclusive of variety of Sri Lankan cuisine.
Popular band ‘Doctor’ and a guest spot by Fallen Andrea, hosted by Stephanie Siriwardana will be the attraction at the Water’s Edge. Tickets are priced at Rs.18,500/- per head.
‘A Night in Copacabana’ will come alive at the world-famous Terrace of Mount Lavinia starting from 7.30 PM onwards. The popular band ‘Freeze’ of ‘Diasge Nagi’ fame will be the top attraction for music and dance moves composers of the night. The guests can dance the night away to the beats of DJ
