Monash University Malaysia is maintainin­g the same high standards with regards to quality of their programmes as Monash University Australia – a Group of Eight (Go8) university & ranked 2nd best in Australia and 54th in world ranking by Times Higher Education 2024 ranking.

The two academics visiting Sri Lanka are Dr. Narendra Pamidi who is specialise­d in human anatomy, diabetes, and neuroscien­ce teaching and research and Dr. Lau Wee Ming specialisi­ng in internal medicine.

We give opportunit­ies for interested students and parents to meet them on one-onone exclusive basis at times given below.

As for the Course in Medicine- it is equivalent to that offered at Monash’s Australian campus. The selection criteria, learning objectives and assessment­s are identical and is offered over five years at Monash University Malaysia. the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences’ particular strengths are in the cardiometa­bolic, infection and immunity, global public health and neuroscien­ce fields.The course is patientcen­tered and designed to produce highly competent medical doctors who are work ready profession­als, who are reflective, compassion­ate and committed to lifelong learning. This Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (BMedSci/MD) is truly an internatio­nal degree that enables graduates to practice medicine in Malaysia, Australia, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Many of their graduates have gone on to practice in Australia.

Monash University Malaysia medical course is accredited by the Australian Medical Council, which means that their graduates can practice in Australia and New Zealand without sitting for additional examinatio­ns. The course is also recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council, Sri Lanka Medical Council and Medical Council of Thailand. The graduates will be offered postings at healthcare facilities in Malaysia and a three-month clinical attachment in Australia. These opportunit­ies let you gain wider experience in a variety of healthcare settings.

In the intakes of 2023/24 we have following students studying Medicine in the Monash University in Malaysia - Aaron Goonewarde­ne of AIS, Himath Hemanga of Stafford Internatio­nal School, Mohamed Rumie Azri Ahamed of Steiner College and Nevanmie Minsadi Ranasinghe of Elizabeth Moir Senior School. Monash University Malaysia offers “Monash Medicine Bursaries” which amounts to RM 10,000 tuition fee waiver per year or RM 50,000 for the full course. This bursary is limited to 10 high achievers per intake.

Since the number of slots available for these “one on one” interview sessions are limited and the demand is high, they are offered strictly on invitation by Edlocate.
