Sri Lanka set to host Li Ning Internatio­nal Challenge

Sri Lanka is pitching up to host the Li Ning Sri Lanka Internatio­nal Challenge 2024 from February 5 to 11 in Dadella, Galle, one of the leading tourist destinatio­ns of the country. The tournament boasts a substantia­l total prize money of $15,000 and is set to attract top-notch players from around the globe which currently has brought in over 300 players from 19 countries.

Organised by Sri Lanka Badminton, the tournament will take place at the Indoor Stadium located within the District Sports Complex in Dadalla, Galle. With the sanction of both the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Badminton Asia (BA), the event promises to be a showcase of world-class badminton talent.

The draw for the tournament is scheduled to take place on January 23 as the tournament’s schedule is packed with intense matches, starting with Qualifying Rounds on February 5 and culminatin­g in the Finals on February 11.

The Qualifying Rounds of LI NING Internatio­nal Challenge 2024 will take place on February 5 and 6, followed by the Preliminar­y Rounds slotted to take place on February 7 and 8. The tournament will proceed with the quarter-finals on February 9, followed by the semi-finals the following day. The event will culminate on February 11 with the finals.

The tournament promises a week of high-stakes badminton action, as players compete to secure victory and a share of the substantia­l prize money. Badminton enthusiast­s are encouraged to mark their calendars and witness the thrilling competitio­n unfold at the Indoor Stadium in Dadalla, Galle.

The second phase of the Li-Ning Internatio­nal Series will commence on February 12 at the same venue, with a similar format and layout.
