FitsAir acquires approval for inflight catering

-

FitsAir, Sri Lanka's leading low-cost airline, has announced a significant enhancement to its service offerings by obtaining approval for inflight self-catering. This strategic move aligns with the airlines vision to offer low-cost international travel.

FitsAir's Inflight Catering Services prioritise affordability and variety, providing passengers with wallet-friendly meal choices that won't strain their budgets. The inflight menu features practical yet satisfying meal options, ensuring passengers receive excellent value for spend. In addition to these selections, the airline offers a range of snack packs and essential refreshments, ensuring travellers stay fueled and refreshed during their journey. The FitsAir menu features locally sourced items that support homegrown brands, the airline said in a media release.

Ammar Kassim, Executive Director of FitsAir, speaking on this initiative, said, "We are grateful to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for facilitating our Catering Certification. At FitsAir, our business model is built on the premise of cost leadership and this is reflected across our business. Our Catering services are designed to support our buy on board menu, where we have a menu of great Sri Lankan snacks and food. We intend to be low cost but not low quality.”

This initiative not only enhances the passenger experience but also results in improved inventory management, zero wastage, and faster turn-times between flights. The idea is to create costs savings which can be passed onto travellers.

The airline envisions expanding its routes and services while retaining control over critical aspects of its operations. These include passenger safety and quality assurance, which remain top priorities for FitsAir. The airline assures travellers that its in-house catering operations will adhere to strict hygiene protocols, and quality standards, committing to investing in training and certification for its catering staff.
