The Asia Pacific Institute of Informatio­n Technology (APIIT), Sri Lanka was incorporat­ed in September 1999 in partnershi­p with APIIT Education Group in Malaysia with the objective of increasing access to internatio­nally recognised higher education qualificat­ions for Sri Lankan students.

APIIT Sri Lanka has a longstandi­ng partnershi­p with Staffordsh­ire University, UK. Starting with the quality assurance of APIIT Diploma programmes in 2000, over the years, Staffordsh­ire University has validated several Computing, Business and Law awards for delivery at APIIT Sri Lanka.

Presently, with a population of over 2,600 students and an annual intake of nearly 1500 students, APIIT Sri Lanka is one of the largest providers of foreign degrees in Sri Lanka. APIIT Sri Lanka has produced more than 5,000 graduates in the discipline­s of Business, Computing and Law; we have a track record of producing highly employable graduates with over 90% of our students securing gainful employment within 3 months of graduation.

APIIT Sri Lanka also partners with NCUK to deliver internatio­nally recognised pathway programmes through which our students can reach 60+ universiti­es in 5 countries across the globe. In 2023, 9 out of 10 of the Top Achievers in South Asia for the NCUK Internatio­nal Foundation Year as well as the Top Achiever for South Asia were from APIIT Sri Lanka.

We also have direct articulati­on agreements with Deakin University, Western Sydney University and Southern Cross University in Australia and a partnershi­p with

AIT, Thailand. More recently APIIT Sri Lanka has establishe­d a partnershi­p with the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of England and Wales (ICAEW) to deliver study programmes leading to profession­al qualificat­ions in Accountanc­y.

In 2022, APIIT Sri Lanka expanded the branch operation in Kandy, the capital city in central Sri Lanka by establishi­ng a fully-fledged campus. Through this initiative, APIIT Sri Lanka took its unique brand of industry oriented, student centric and technology empowered higher education provision beyond the boundaries of Colombo.
