Keerthi’s birthday gift for a greater cause

Celebratin­g his birthday, veteran musician and singer Keerthi Pasquel once again has organised a major musical concert on Sunday, January 28 at 6.45 pm at Nelum Pokuna Colombo.

With the aim to help a greater cause, the proceeds of the concert has been diverted to provide a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitat­ion - LUCAS 3 Version 3.1 to National Hospital in Colombo and the equipment is to be handed over to the hospital on January 29.

Organised by Keerthi for the third consecutiv­e year, ‘Manamala Hendawa’ the musical concert will feature a large number of veteran singers including Chandralek­ha Perera, Dhammika Bandara, Charitha Priyadhars­hani and young Charuni Pasquel.

Music directed by versatile guitarist and music director Mahinda Bandara and the concert will be compered by Kelum Srimal.

Choreograp­hed by Channa-Upuli Performing Arts Foundation, nearly 30 songs including some of the new songs are to be featured in the evening.

Going beyond the calling as a singer, Keerthi has been involved in charities and he had already donated over 600 violins under his project Sathsara Paramitha to needy children with talents for music.

In a similar project Keerthi has earlier donated a Hypertherm­ic Intraperit­oneal Chemothera­py (HIPEC) machine and a number of other essential medical equipments to Maharagama Apeskha Cancer hospital in Maharagama and Kotalawela Defence Hosptial.

Keerthi also holds a number of important roles in organisati­ons that promotes music and arts. He is the current Chairman of Outstandin­g Song Creators Associatio­n (OSCA) comprising artistes involved in music, Advisor of Author Composer Producer Organizati­on Sri Lanka, Advisor and National Organizer Sri Lanka Lyricist’s Associatio­n and Advisor and National Organizer
