International Women’s Day celebration at MLH

This year’s global theme of International Women’s Day is ‘Inspire inclusion’ which highlights the importance of valuing and empowering women in order to improve inclusion as forging women’s economic empowerment by recruiting, retaining and developing female talent throughout the world. As the legend goes, Lovina Aponsuwa, after whom the MLH is named, played a significant role in fighting for the rights of underprivileged women. Her endeavour to ensure that the women from the Rodi caste had the right to cover their upper bodies is a testament to the spirit of empowerment that lives on within the walls of the Mount Lavinia Hotel.

Being a place where women are highly admired from the staff to guests, with this year’s theme of improving inclusion, employed women of the hotel will be celebrated by hosting leisure activities throughout the day.
