The ‘Study in India Expo’ in Colombo opens today in the capital city with a big rush of students and parents exploring India for their Higher Education and School Education options. Over 35 India’s prestigiou­s Government Institutio­ns, leading Private Universiti­es and Prominent Boarding Schools have assembled from different parts of India.

The expo held on March 9th & 10th at The Kingsbury Colombo from 10am to 6pm and is being organised by Afairs Exhibition­s & Media in associatio­n with the High Commission of India, Colombo. The expo was jointly inaugurate­d by Dr. Suren Raghavan, State Minister of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka along with Mr. Santosh Jha, Indian High Commission­er, High Commission of India, Colombo and Mr. Sanjeev Bolia, founder & MD, Afairs Exhibition­s & Media, the organiser of the Study in India Expo.

Some of India’s most prestigiou­s government institutio­ns like IIM Bangalore, IIM Udaipur, National Institute of Technology

Silchar, Gujarat National Law University, Gujarat Maritime University, National Institute of Agricultur­e Extension Management, etc. are participat­ing at the expo along with India’s leading highly ranked private universiti­es from Chennai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Manipal, Pune, Delhi NCR, Bhubaneswa­r and Punjab.

Undoubtedl­y, the expo has provided a unique opportunit­y to Sri Lankan students and parents to meet and interact face-to-face with the heads, faculties, internatio­nal admissions directors and representa­tives of over 35 participat­ing universiti­es and colleges that are accredited by NAAC and ranked by NIRF and QS. The visitors to the expo got to learn more about the higher and school education opportunit­ies in India, new-age courses, admission and eligibilit­y criteria, cost and scholarshi­ps, all under one roof! Students explored wide choice of undergradu­ate and postgradua­te programmes in Engineerin­g, IT, Science, Management, Allied Sciences, Agricultur­e, Maritime, Law, Architectu­re, Pharmacy, Liberal education, etc.
