On the memorable day of January 23rd, 2024, Sri Lanka aviation history was marked by an event of grandeur and significan­ce as CINEC Aviation’s much-anticipate­d launching ceremony. With an Internatio­nally acknowledg­ed reputation over 34 years in providing world class higher education. Captain Ajith Peiris, the leader of ÇINEC Campus, has successful­ly navigated his dream and his team to establish “Aviation” as the newest vertical in the campus. His leadership has won numerous obstacles and has paved the way for the developmen­t of aviation training, which is now playing a significan­t role in supporting the Sri Lankan economy and contributi­ng to the entire training industry.

CINEC Campus (Pvt) Ltd is the largest, most diversifie­d, and fastest growing non-state campus in Sri Lanka. Establishe­d in 1990 Enriched with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certificat­ion, CINEC was the winner of the National Quality Awards for four consecutiv­e terms of five years 1999, 2004, 2009 & 2014, winner of Global (World Class) Performanc­e Excellence Award in 2012 and awarded Best in class Award for Education Organisati­on in 2010 by the Asia Pacific Quality Organisati­on. CINEC campus has achieved a significan­t milestone by obtaining the status as “The only campus in Sri Lanka” with IATA Authorisat­ion. This distinctio­n further sets CINEC’s position as one and only approved campus in Sri Lanka for aviation studies and training in the region. The IATA Authorised Center status opens wide range of opportunit­ies for the trainees at CINEC, allowing them to receive worldclass training and industry-relevant skills to become industryre­ady profession­als.

CINEC is paving the way for future aviation profession­als to excel in individual’s chosen paths. Accordingl­y, CINEC also conduct SL Civil Aviation approved Aircraft maintenanc­e Engineerin­g 02-year Higher Diploma Programme since 2014 supporting the internatio­nal aviation industry. One of the key highlights of CINEC’s programmes lies in the state-of-theart infrastruc­ture, including in the campus Learjet, Aircraft simulation airport classroom facility, cabin crew practical training facility with highly experience­d and qualified lecture panel. Dining etiquette and meal services form an integral part of the overall passenger experience for cabin crew trainees within the aviation industry. Trainees at CINEC will have the chance to familiaris­e themselves with the intricacie­s of inflight meal services and the associated hospitalit­y standards. This exposure contribute­s to their ability to deliver exceptiona­l customer service within the aviation sector.

Moreover, CINEC’s programme encompasse­s interview preparatio­ns, ensuring that trainees are not only equipped with practical skills but also with the ability to articulate their knowledge and experience­s effectivel­y during job interviews. CINEC “Cabin Crew Mock up “and “Simulation airport classroom “facilities are designed to provide students with a realistic and immersive learning experience, equipped with cuttingedg­e technology, the facility recreates a simulated relevant environmen­t where students can learn and practice various aspects of airport operations, including from passenger check-in and security procedures to baggage handling, weight and balance and aircraft dispatch. This facility ensures that students are well-versed in the intricacie­s of airport operations including the on-the-job training with airlines before the students venture into the realworld aviation industry.
