Copy machine broken Lawyers can’t get copies of files

-

Defense attorneys on Wednesday complained that they once again can’t get copies of files because the copy machine at the Court House is broken. Attorney Harold Belfor told Times of Suriname that this makes it difficult for the lawyers to provide the proper legal aid to their clients. “They must have a copy of the files. That has been a problem for some time. In the new year of session lawyers were confronted with the fact that the copy machine is not working. They have no choice but to seek facilities outside the court house.” Belfor explained that the attorneys had been promised that they would receive copies of the files but that it is not clear when they will actually get them. “The court room is nothing more than a chicken coop. “One does not smile when entering the courtroom. It is no place to work,” said Belfor who added that things would have been different this new year of session but that “nothing has changed.”
