Minister Peneux: “When youths lose their way, we are to blame”

-

“When youths lose their way, we are to blame,” said Education, Science and Culture Minister Robert Peneux who added that “we are responsible for raising youths and being role models to them.” He explained that teachers with the cognitive baggage must aim at teaching youths moral values. “You have received a pedagogical schooling on how to act in all situations when children display intemporate behavior. We must be able to correct unwanted behavior according to the pedagogical tools at our disposal. Slapping is not an option,” said the minister who added that he also will not tolerate it when youths assault teachers. He pointed out that he wants multi disciplinary school leaders who will ultimately have to tackle all of the problems within the schools. The minister also pointed out that he is aware of the child unfriendly toilets at schools. He made it clear that this must become a thing of the past.
