FlexTank on its way to Barbados

Amazone Resources on Wednesday morning decided to start with the test voyage to Barbados. The decision was made after the company had received permission from the authorities. The first test voyage had initially been scheduled to take place on November 22 but was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Amazone Resources issued a press release, indicating that during the past couple of days its technical team had carried out various tests in association with Surinamese experts. After the tests the water bag or FlexTank underwent several modifications. The FlexTank is currently better equipped to survive the voyage under Surinamese circumstances. Strengthening the front of the towboat is the most important modification that was made. The towboat Suzanne D departed from the former plantation Suzanna’s Daal in Commewijne around 9:30 am and headed towards the estuary of the Suriname River before leaving for Barbados.
