Examining magistrate extends detention of peadophile suspects

-

The examining judge last week extended the detention of five men who are being suspected of having sexually abused underage boys with 30 days. FB, one of the suspects, has hired defense attorney Harold Belfor. Belfor told Times of Suriname that the detention of his client was deemed lawful. FB denies any knowledge of the crime which he is being accused of and does not know why he is being tied to this case. Belfort pointed out that he would confer with his client before take further steps. The police previously indicated that the suspects ‘recruited’ their victims on social media. The victims were told were they could meet their so-called Facebook friends.

Once the victim arrived at the meeting place, he was sexually abused by an entire group of men. Reports indicate that certain suspects operated via various Facebook profiles. Investigators pointed out that they came across various FB profiles such as Moreno Doesburg, Shuan Lindveld and Tjah Gangten Aroeman. These names are not the actual names of the suspects.

Reports indicate that pictures of other people including police officers were also used as profile pictures. Investigators also found out that some of the suspects have HIV. It is suspected that they deliberately had unsafe sex with youths. Once they had infected, they told their victims to spread the virus.
