Rosebel donates SRD 135,000 to social organizati­ons

Rosebel Gold Mines NV (Rosebel) on December 15, 2016 carried outs its annual Christmas Project by donating money to 17 social institutes located in the districts Paramaribo, Brokopondo, Commewijne, Saramacca and Nickerie. The mining company has reportedly donated SRD 135,000 in total.

General Manager at Rosebel, Suresh Kalathil, explained that Rosebel has committed itself to enriching the lives of its stakeholde­rs including the Surinamese community. “Through many developmen­t projects Rosebel is helping to improve the lives of people living in Brokopondo, Paramaribo and other parts of Suriname. We have supported a number of social organizati­ons that work hard to help those in need of help. During this special time of the year we want to help those people in having a merry Christmas,” said Kalathil. Rosebel has reportedly donated money to the Salvation Army (Leger des Heils), Stichting Hulp in Nood, Stigesu, Stichting Rumas, Stichting “Een Parel in God’s Oog”, Mr. Huber Stichting, Stichting Betheljada, Huize Ashiana, Educatief Studenten Opvang Centrum Zaailand, Stichting Lotjeshuis, Nationale Stichting Blindenzor­g Suriname, Stichting Mijnzorg, Baling Soela Children’s Home, Huize Siembah, Bejaardenc­entrum Majella, Zr. Dankers Center and the Lion Jan Gruntjes School.
