Senior citizen sees 3 intruders starts yelling

-

A 73-year-woman who lives alone at Vredenburg Serie B on Monday night managed to go outside and yell after she had spotted 3 intruders in her house. The woman had gone to the toilet and walked to her bedroom when she spotted 3 intruders in her house. The incident took place around 9:15 p.m. The intruders had evidently pried open a side door and also walked towards the woman’s bedroom. The senior citizen managed to slip outside through another side door before yelling for help. A neighbor told Times of Suriname that her son had asked her to switch on all of the light when he heard the woman screaming. “My son and uncle grabbed a hunting rifle and fired several shots into the air. The perpetrators ran outside, jumped over the fence and disappeared into the bushes after the fourth shot had been fired,” said the female neighbor. The senior citizen remained unharmed but she was clearly shocked by the fact that strangers had been in her house. The neighbor told Times of Suriname that she and her children were also shocked by the incident because something like this had never happened before. The robbers managed to make off with jewels, money, a mobile phone and alcoholic drinks. The neighbor believes that the criminals had watched the senior citizen’s for some time before making their move when the neighbors had turned off the lights. The intruders did not have any guns but they did have 1 crowbar which they had used to force their way into the victim’s house. The neighbor explained that there are many plots in the area with thick bushes which thieves used as hiding places.
