Toronto sisters arrested for attempted extortion
NIGERIA - Two Kardashianlook-alike sisters from Toronto are being held in Nigeria after they allegedly tried to extort a billionaire in the African country. Jyoti and Kiran Matharoo are accused of threatening Femi Otedola and telling him they would reveal that he was cheating on his wife if he did not hand over money to the young women. Otedola, 54, is worth a reported $1.8billion, most of which he made in petroleum. Politics Nigeria reports that the sisters are also being accused of running the website ‘Naijagistlive,’ which was used to ‘accuse several high-ranking men ... of cheating and patronizing prostitutes.’ That website also alleges that the sisters are ‘high society prostitutes.’ That was not the first time that the two women had targeted a wealthy businessman according to Politics Nigeria, who outlined how the pair allegedly went about securing money for their targets. ‘They demanded money in order not to go public with the details. This was their “modus operandi”,’ claims the website. ‘It was also discovered that the girls recorded conversations and sex romps with their rich clients which comprise of politicians, club owners and businessmen. ‘After the acts, they approach their victims through a third party, threatening them to pay thousands of dollars or risk the release of the recordings/pictures/videos online through their website Naijagistlive.’ The sisters were arraigned in Yaba Magistrate Court on Friday and will now remain in prison until their next appearance on January 27. The two girls signed a confessional statement on Friday admitting to a number of the claims being made against them by Otedola and others. In the confessional they signed the girls agree to leave the country after their trial. They have both plead not guilty to the charges, which include the claims that the two ‘have been responsible for the humiliation and cyber-bullying of some 274 persons, mostly based in regions of Africa.’
At the time of their arrest the btwo allegedly had a laptop with a list of names they had blackmailed and videos of them having sex with high-ranking individuals. (dailymail.co.uk)
