Mini tractor driver dies in freak accident

JR (54) died on Sunday after he and his mini tractor ended up in a gutter located along the Tawariepolderweg in the Saramacca District. Regional Police Chief Harnarain Mohan confirmed the reports. The man who lived at Kwatta reportedly drowned in the gutter while he was mowing grass along the Tawajariepolderweg. He was busy along the gutter but fell in the gutter with his tractor when he got too close to the edge. The man could not get out of the gutter because he was stuck underneath his tractor. He had left his home on the mini tractor at around 4 p.m. Around 7.30 p.m. his relatives went looking for him. They reportedly saw the 4 tires of the tractor in the gutter and when they went to take a closer look, they saw the man in the mud with the tractor on top of him. They pulled the tractor and the man out of the tractor before notifying the police.
