Student killed with carjack

-

The student who was found dead recently after she had been missing for over a week was reportedly killed with a carjack before being buried. Police Chief Guno Roosenhoff told Times of Suriname that the suspect who is in custody, 33-year-old Jonathan L, has finally confessed to having killed 20-year-old Clarissa Boldewijn before burying her at a remote location. The statements of Jonathan L are consistent with the results of the autopsy regarding the cause of death.

Jonathan L is reportedly an acquaintance of the victim. He told investigators that he became angry at her after a small quarrel. He then grabbed the carjack and hit her on the head with it. After the student had died, he buried her body along the Afobakaweg between Mast 47 and Mast 48. He then drove to the Groenhartweg where he set the girl’s car ablaze. He then left the location in a taxi. The suspect claimed that it was not his intention to kill her. He also claimed that he acted in a fit of temper. The suspect will reportedly be brought to the location where the body was found and the location here the car was found to explain to investigators what happened exactly. Investigators zeroed in on JL after it was brought to their attention that he started acting strange after the student had gone missing. The police arrested him but he kept denying the charges. The suspect claimed that nobody else was involved in the death of Boldewijn. He made it clear that only he killed the victim. Roosenhoff pointed out that solving this missing person/ homicide case was a top priority of the police. “The police succeeded in solving this case.”
