-

Policeman Bisoendath P was recently arrested for his involvement in armed robberies. Investigators pointed out that the policeman had stolen a bulletproof vest from the Houttuin police station. Police Chief Guno Roosenhoff confirmed that investigators have confirmed that the policeman had stolen 2 bullet proof vests and that one of the vests was stolen from the Houttuin police station where he was stationed. The policeman had previously been transferred from another police station to Houttuin. It is not clear yet where he had stolen the other bulletproof vest. Roosenhoff pointed out that the investigation is still ongoing. The policeman has reportedly denied the charges. At his arraignment his attorney asked that he be released from police custody. The examining judge denied the request. Reports indicate that a 4th suspect was arrested on Friday. Initial reports indicate that 2 armed robbers had been arrested shortly after they had committed 2 armed robberies at separate locations in Geyersvlijt on March 22. It is believed that the 4th suspect was also involved in one of the armed robberies. The suspects have allegedly committed 3 armed robberies. The perpetrators were in plainclothes but wore the vests which had the word POLICE on them. Police units managed to cut off the suspects’ vehicle at Leiding 21B. The suspects then told investigators that a policeman had given them the bulletproof vests. The suspects were reportedly in possession of stolen money, a grey police uniform, jewels, mobile phones and clothes.
