Fly Allways reaches huge market

-

Fly Allways has reached a huge market with the start of its first commercial flight from Suriname to Curaçao and vice versa. According to statistics from Curaçao Airport Partners which operates at the Antillean airport Hato, about 10,000 passengers travel along this route with their two way tickets every year. Fly Allways carried out its inaugural flight between the two destinations on Sunday.

Masood Kazmi, chief operating officer at Fly Allways, pointed out that the start of the commercial flights is a milestone. In the past the airliner only carried out charter flights. But after a thorough study and the ‘departure’ of Antillean airliner Insel Air, Fly Allways decided to fill the gap. The Fly Allways executive who is responsible for the entire commercial operation pointed out that flights will be carried out twice a week along this regional route in the coming period. The flights will be carried out on Wednesdays and Sundays. Fly Allways reportedly maintains this route with a Fokker 80 type aircraft that only has comfortable chairs. When asked if the company will also expand its wings to other commercial destinations within the region, Kazmi pointed out that for now the focus is on the new route that was recently added. The chairman of the Curaçao Tourism Board, Hugo Clarinda, applauded the fact that “the airline visits his island.” He pointed out that he is in favor of both countries working together at expanding the flight connection. “One must not forget that a very long relation exists between Curaçao and Suriname”, said Clarinda as he referred to the fact that many Surinamese tourists and citizens head to the island to visit relatives. Curaçao’s Minister of Economic Development, Steven Martina, pointed out that multiple flights between Curaçao and Suriname will boost the development of tourism.
