Suriname shocked by 2 murders

Suriname on Friday morning was shocked by 2 murders. Police Chief Guno Roosenhoff told Times of Suriname that 32-year-old Raoul Janmohamme­d was gunned down in his home/ bakery located along the Vierkinder­enweg. The victim’s wife told the police that she, her husband and 2 children were sleeping when 4 men entered the building and shot her husband in the head. The perpetrato­rs who reportedly gained access to the building through the front door made off with 2 mobile phones. The woman and the children remained unharmed. The deadly home invasion was reported to the police around 4:05 a.m. The two workers who were in the bakery did not hear anything. Another murder was also reported on Friday. 50-year-old Marjorie Willems was killed in the KFC building located along the Wilhelmina­straat. According to Roosenhoff, the woman arrived at work at 6 a.m. and was found dead at 8:10. She was reportedly hit on the head several times with a hard object. The perpetrato­r reportedly entered the building through the backdoor. Nothing was reportedly stolen. Roosenhoff pointed out that the murder was caught on the security camera. Sources indicate that the victim was the restaurant manager and that she had worked at KCF for over 20 years. Sources also indicated that a bag that contained a white pair of pants with blood stains and a bloody hammer was found in the bushes at the corner of the Wilhelmina­straat and the HJ Benjaminst­raat.
