,n remarks made to C11Turk, Bozdağ, who is also a spokes man for the goYernment, said the P<' P.. terrorists had to leaYe ManbiM, a strategic city west of the (uphrates in northern Syria. ³,f they >P<' P..@ do not leaYe ManbiM, we will moYe into ManbiM and towards the east of (uphrates,´ he said. Bozdag added that P<' P.. and 'aesh terrorists had been ³neutralize­d´ since the beginning of the 2peration 2liYe Branch in Syria’s $frin region.

Turkish authoritie­s often use the word ³neutralize­d´ in their statements to imply the terrorists in Tuestion either surrendere­d or were killed or captured.

$ccording to the Turkish General Staff, the operation aims to establish security and stability along Turkey’s bor ders and the region as well as to protect Syrians from oppression and cruelty of ter rorists.

The operation is being car ried out under the framework of Turkey’s rights based on internatio­nal law, 81 Secu rity Council resolution­s, its self defense rights under the 81 charter, and respect for Syria’s territoria­l integrity.
