Police reports indicate that 4 masked robbers targeted a family in the Commewijne District. Other police reports indicate that a 27-year-old woman and her 3 underage children were robbed after being tied up in the Wanica District by 3 masked men. 3 of the 4 masked robbers who targeted the family in Commewijne were armed with guns. They gained access to the house by prying open the window of a bedroom where nobody sleeps. Then they went into the bedroom where the woman and her two children were sleeping. After that they went to the bedroom of the man of the house. The perpetrators tied the man up before hitting him on the head. The man who reportedly suffered a head injury complained of pain all over his body and was taken to the Emergency Room. The robbers reportedly made off with €400, a bracelet, a necklace, a ring and a car. The stolen car was recovered at Tamanredjo. The robbers are still at large. The family from Wanica was reportedly robbed by 3 masked men who were dressed in black clothes. The robbers who tied up the woman and her 3 children were barefoot and also entered the house by breaking one of the windows. Once they were inside the house, they overpowered the woman. The robbers made off with two bags that contained documents, 2 mobile phones and an empty wallet. The woman and her children were home alone when the robbers showed up.
