USA - It’s always nice when a show gets renewed before it finishes its run, and that’s exactly what has happened with Black Lightning. The CW has done the right thing and renewed what might just be their best superhero show, and confirmed that Black Lightning season 2 is a go. So prepare to see more of Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) and his powerful daughters, Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain). Fans still have a while until the Season 2 drops, though, so what to do in the meantime? Re-watch all the Season 1 episodes, of course! The good news comes alongside renewals for the CW’s entire superhero slate, as well as other stalwarts in the lineup. “As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday through Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19,” said CW president Mark Pedowitz in a statement. “By picking these ten series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programmin­g to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come.”

Hopefully Black Lightning season 2 follows the model of season one, with fewer episodes than most of the other superhero shows (it’s about quality not quantity)! In any case, the earliest we will see Black Lightning season 2 is October 2018, but certainly no later than January 2019.
