0ahender 6ingh Kanyal wil reportedly become the new ambassador of India to 6uriname. The decision was recently made by the &ouncil of 0inisters in India. Kanyal will soon leave for 6uriname to present his credential­s. It has not been ruled out that he will also be part of the presidenti­al delegation that is e[pected to visit 6uriname ne[t month. The council announced that ³Kanyal will soon assume office.” Kanyal will officially replace 6atendar Kumar who will return to India after having been India¶s ambassador to 6uriname for over two years. Kanyal who is currently still the director at India¶s 0inistry of ([ternal Affairs has gained a lot of political e[perience in (urope, Asia and the 0iddle (ast and he also speaks several languages fluently. +e¶s reportedly looking forward to his mission in 6uriname where he will mainly focus his attention on the developmen­t of culture e[change and groups that have been neglected pedagogica­lly. ³6uriname and India have many similariti­es when it comes to civili]ation and culture,” said India¶s future ambassador to 6uriname.
