Two traffic accidents that took place separately during the weekend reportedly claimed 1 life each. A pedestrian reportedly died after being hit by a car along Ringweg-Zuid on Friday morning. A traffic accident that took place along the Afobakaweg claimed the life of a driver. The number of road deaths has officially jumped from 29 to 31.

5eports indicate that the pedestrian was walking along 5ingweg-=uid when he was scooped up by a car at a curve in the road where there are no street lights. The identity of the victim who died at the scene is not known. ,t is suspected that the female driver did not see the pedestrian while she was driving along the road.

The other deadly traffic accident took place when a 64-year-old man had rammed a tag trailer of a truck that was hauling an excavator. The driver of the truck reportedly had changed one of the tires near the .M 13 marker when he suddenly heard a bang at the back of the tag trailer of his truck. When he walked to the rear of his truck to investigat­e, he saw that a car had rammed his tag trailer. The driver of the car indicated that he was feeling a lot of pain in his chest. The driver also had a deep cut in his right knee and blood was coming out of his nose. The injured driver reportedly died on the way to the hospital. The driver’s license of the truck driver has been confiscate­d pending the investigat­ion.
