136 children from 4 children’s homes were invited to the Paramaribo Zoo on Sunday. Every year Shri Sanatan Dharm Paramaribo North brings children from various children’s homes to the Paramaribo Zoo on the first Sunday of -une.

This year the SS'3 invited children from the following children’s homes $rya 'ewaker, Surinaamse ,slamitisch­e 9ereniging, Sanathan 'harm and Sukh 'haam. This year the SS'3 invited the children to celebrate 145 years of ,ndian ,mmigration and to discuss the importance of oral hygiene. Oral hygiene is the practice of keeping one’s mouth clean and free of disease and other problems e.g. bad breath by regular brushing and cleaning between the teeth . ... The most common types of dental disease are tooth decay and gum diseases, including gingivitis, and periodonti­tis. Stichting -eugdtandve­r]orging Suriname -T9 reportedly gave an info session on oral hygiene. The children were taught how to brush their teeth properly. They were also told to brush their teeth 3 times a day. The children were all smiles as they had a lot of fun at the ]oo. They were also given a tour of the ]oo. The children were reportedly given breakfast, fruits and cotton candy. When they got ready to leave the ]oo at 4 p.m., they were also given a present. (ach of the children’s homes was also given a package that contained food products. The chairman of the SS'3, 5am Soeknandan thanked Stichting Scholen Werk en Uitvoering $msterdam that is chaired by /esley +elling and other sponsors for making it possible to giving the children an unforgetta­ble day.
