Prosecution demands 10 years in prison for serial rapist

-

Edgar J risks spending the next 10 years behind bars for raping 3 women including an underage girl. District Attorney Reshmi Rathipal said that the suspect always used the same modus operandi. The suspect reportedly drove along the same routes to rape his victims. One of the victims was escorted by her little brother and a female cousin when she went to Sunny Point to bring school uniforms to a tailoress. After they had done some shopping, they had to catch a bus to return home. Then they met the suspect who offered them a ride. The underage girl told the court that the suspect had raped her at gunpoint in a side street of the Welgedacht A-road. Rathipal pointed out that the victim was raped several times while the little brother and cousin were in his car. The young woman positively recognized Edgar J. Rathipal told the court that the suspect had also raped a woman with whom he chatted and whom he had known for two years. The suspect promised the woman that he would give her some money on her birthday. He took her for a ride before raping the woman who was reportedly pregnant. He had also raped the woman at gunpoint. The suspect also raped an underage girl who was on her way home after she had been to a store. Edgar J pulled over next to her and offered her a ride. He then got out and pushed her in his car while pointing his gun at her. He reportedly took her mobile phone and raped her four times. The suspect has partially admitted and partially denied the charges. Defense Attorney Georgette Leter will give her closing argument on June 28.
