The pharmacy at the St Vincentius Ziekenhuis SVZ reportedly does not have paracetamol and antibiotics in stock. It is not clear when the hospital will receive new supplies. People with a prescription for these medicines are told to try their luck at other pharmacies. “The critical financial situation has resulted in a shortage of medicines,” said SVZ *eneral Director 0anodj Hindori in response to reports that indicated that the Surgical :ard of the SVZ does not have all the necessary medicines. Hindori explained that the situation at the Surgical :ard has been normalized. He did not want to comment any further on the issue especially given the fact that many un- verified reports were posted on social media.

Curtis Hofwijks, founder of the activist group :e Are Tired :e Zijn 0oe , who had shared a post regarding the issue pointed out that the SVZ has had a medicine shortage for over two weeks. paracetamol, tramadol, diclofenac, naproxen, heparin, antibiotics, claforan and augmentin pills are reportedly out of stock at the SVZ. Hofwijks claimed that several people who work at the hospital have confirmed the reports. “They do not even have a replacement for paracetamol. Simple things can¶t be purchased. The situation reflects the current state of the healthcare sector,” said Hofwijks.
