Indian ambassador determined to observe MoUs
The new ambassador of India to Suriname, Mahender Singh Kanyal, is determined to observe all of the Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) that were signed during the official visit of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind in June 2018. The new ambassador presented his credentials to President Desi Bouterse at the Presidential Palace on Monday, July 30.
Kanyal who is looking forward to working hard to achieve prosperity and progress for both nations is happy to be in Suriname and considers it a real honor to represent his country in Suriname.
On Monday the non-resident ambassador ofthe Philippines, Marichu Mauro, and the non-resident ambassador of Ghana, Abena Pukua Adompim Busia, also presented their credentials to the president. Ambassador Abena Pukua Adompim Busia who pointed out that Suriname and Ghana share many historical and cultural ties is looking forward to building stronger relations with Suriname while focusing on cultural exchanges. Ambassador Marichu Mauro pointed out that the relation between Suriname and the Philippines dates back to 1997. She strongly believes that there are many mutual opportunities for both countries that are yet to be identified. The ambassador is also looking forward to the exchange of diplomats between Suriname and the Philippines. That way Suriname can know what the Philippines stand for and the Philippines can also learn more about Suriname’s important role in South America and the Caribbean.
