14th Trinitarios gang member charged with murder
USA - The 14th suspect in connection to the brutal bodega murder of 15-year-old Lesandro ‘Junior’ GuzmanFeliz has been arrested and charged. Frederick Then, 20, turned himself in Sunday night- less than a week after the NYPD released his photograph in search of the alleged Trinitarios gang member. Then has been charged with murder, manslaughter, gang assault, conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon in the killing of the teen who aspired to be a police officer. He is accused of being involved in the Guzman-Feliz’s brutal death which shocked the nation after security cameras captured five members of the Dominican gang dragging the teen out of a Bronx bodega and viciously stabbing him to death with a machete on June 20. The Dominican gang is believed to have murdered the teen in a case of mistaken identity after confusing him with a man from a rival faction gang who had sex with one of the Trinitarios’ girlfriend. The other 13 members of the group have been charged in relation to the senseless killing with similar charges as Then. Then reportedly spent time hiding out in New York and Passaic County, New Jersey, for the three months since the teen’s death. Police said he also used several different phones to remain under their radar. Authorities have not said exactly what role Then played in the killing. Law enforcement sources told the Daily news last week that police are not just looking for those who physically killed Guzman-Feliz, but for anyone who had anything to do with the attack. Since GuzmanFeliz’s murder, the 14 men arrested are all believed to belong to the Trinitarios.
