Top Cop concludes Divisional Inspection­s

Police Commission­er Leslie James DSS, DSM concluded his Divisional Inspection­s in Bartica ( F Division).

The Police Chief, his Deputy Commission­ers and several other key officers arrived at the Bartica Stelling shortly after midday on Saturday and were welcomed by the Divisional Commander, Senior Superinten­dent Kelvin Adonis; top regional officials and a guard-of-honour. The commission­er then inspected a parade comprised of police and community policing group members. Impressed with the ranks’ turnout and bearing, Commission­er James promoted nine policemen on-the-spot and another an hour later at the Bartica Community Centre Ground.

At the community centre ground, the commission­er spoke of the direction the Force is heading, in respect to its reformatio­n process which has already begun. A number of issues and concerns were raised by the packed auditorium, among who were representa­tives from various sectors of society. These were all addressed by the Top Cop and his Deputies.

Mayor of Bartica Gifford Marshall and the Region’s acting Regional Executive Officer Hubert Knights both in delivering brief remarks spoke highly of the performanc­e of ranks and pledged to continue to lend support where necessary. Regional Chairman Mr Gordon Bradford was also present, but had to leave to attend another engagement. Those promoted are Corporal 21516 Tishan Rodrigues to Sergeant; Lance Corporal 20640 Ryan Craigen to Corporal; Lance Corporal 21665 Keron Crandon to Corporal; Woman Detective Constable 22540 Toni Bentley to Corporal; Detective Constable 20643 Phillip Bourne to Lance Corporal; Constable 18744 Andre Fung to Lance Corporal; Constable 23647 Jermaine Batson to Lance Corporal; Constable 23784 Burt Burnette to Lance Corporal and woman detective.
