Nothing wrong with water SWM

-

PARAMARIBO - “There is nothing wrong with the water of the NV Surinaamsche Waterleiding Maatschappij.” SWM director Marlon Oosterling clarifies this in response to a report circulated via social media. The report states that the water is contaminated with certain bacteria that cause diarrhoea and vomiting in humans and that as a result a family of four (mother, father and two children) has ended up in hospital. The children are in intensive care.

“This message is false, none of this is true.” “If you look at things logically, we could poison an entire neighbourhood with water, but not just one person. So it’s a fake message that is being distributed two days ago AZP has already been examined and now it’s SWM’s turn. We have spoken to the director of AZP and nobody is there in the hospital as is claimed. If one also considers that a baby of one year old drinks porridge and the porridge is heated so there can never be bacteria in it”, says Oosterling. SWM came out with a message about this and for the director this is the end of the matter.

SWM also states in a statement that the SWM is an ISO 9001: 2015 certified company, and it emphasises that good and reliable drinking water is produced and distributed 1 x 24 hours a day on the basis of its social responsibility, among other things. In addition, the company has a laboratory that is responsible for the daily monitoring and control of the quality of the water. The SWM deeply regrets that this false reporting has caused unnecessary commotion in the community regarding the reliability of its product.
