Telesur provides G5 internet

-

The Telecommunication Company Suriname (Telesur) recently introduced its newest product: 5G internet. The official launch of the super fast internet took place in the Ballroom of Hotel Torarica on Friday. Mike Antonius, director at Telesur, pointed out that earlier this year he had already announced the introduction of 5G internet. “Suriname is the first country in the region to have 5G internet.” Telesur made 5G internet available in down town Paramaribo on November 25. “Given the fact that 5G internet mainly provides countless opportunities to companies, it was decided to roll out this service in the commercial center of Suriname”, said the Telesur director. The business customers can use 5G internet free of charge from December 2019 until February 2020. Telesur will also introduce 5G internet in its other regions during the next phase which will start in March 2020. Antonius explained that Telesur had to keep up with the pace of technogy. One advantage of 5G internet is that objects and appliances can communicate with each other. Another advantage is that the integration with other parts of the world is made easier thereby providing opportunities for independent entrepreneurs who want to become part of the internet economy. The director pointed out that the 5G network is part of the e-Suriname vision. The 5G network had a price tag of USD 4 million.
