President Desi Bouterse: “Goods in the stores will become cheaper”

-

“We will pick up the pace. We will execute projects. We have work to do. On March 1 we will start dredging the Suriname River so that the goods in the stores will become cheaper,” said President Desi Bouterse on Monday night. Bouterse who is also the chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDP) gave this statement at Monday’s rally of the party. He assured the crowd that the current government would continue its work to boost the nation’s development. One of the big projects that will be launched soon is the opening of a new highway to Zanderij.

The new road will be opened on March 7.

The chairman of the NDP pointed out that if one looks back at the revolution period, one would notice its many achievements. “My administration has also actualized many projects. The BouterseAdhin administration has achieved much more in the period 2015-2020, than the three terms that Front and New Front ran the country. Between 2015 and now more than 500 projects were carried out,” said the head of state before receiving a book with a list of all these projects from Vice President Ashwin

Adhin. Adhin labeled the deeds of Bouterse as a legacy promised to publish another book about the achievements of the current government. Bouterse indicated that he was very pleased with the turnout as it indicated that the people still support him and still believe in him. He also issued a warning regarding the many fake news reports that are being spread by the opposition. “The fake reports are aimed at causing confusion. The government will not be distracted and will continue to carry out projects. “I want to take you to a future where we will have energy in abundance so that development can happen at a faster pace. I want to take you to a future where the American dollar will be obsolete. I want to take you to a future where our experts and international experts will take a serious look at a very deep sea port. I will take you to a future where we must dream of a new city. I will take you to a new future where we will have a wood industry here and employment opportunities,” said Bouterse who added that the government would also help the laborers at FAI NV by addressing the problems at this company.
